A CAR caught fire in a village near Chester.
Firefighters spent more than an hour and a half tackling the blaze which also damaged an outbuilding at a property on School Lane, Mickle Trafford, at 5.40pm on Thursday (December 27).
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said one crew from the city attended the scene and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
He added: "They then used the hose reel to damp the area affected by the fire down to make sure that it was safe. Firefighters also used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
"Although the fire damaged the domestic outbuilding it did not catch fire. Firefighters were in attendance for more than an hour-and a-half."
It is not known how the fire started and there were no reports of injuries.
