A VAN caught fire on a country lane near Chester.
Firefighters from the city station were sent to the scene on Saighton Lane, Saighton, at around 4.55pm on Wednesday (January 2).
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "On arrival at the scene the team discovered a van which was well alight.
"A further fire engine from Ellesmere Port was requested at the scene to assist with water supply.
"The team then used two hose reel jets and one breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire. Crews were at scene just over one hour."
It is not known how the fire started.
