A drug dealer who was caught after officers raided his home is now serving five-and-a-half years behind bars.

David Mellor, 42, of Eccleston Avenue, Great Sutton,, Ellesmere Port, was sentenced at Chester Crown Court after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

The court heard how at noon on Wednesday, February 1, officers searched Mellor’s address on Eccleston Avenue and recovered cocaine and heroin as well as scales and phones.

Constable Lucy Hawkins, of Ellesmere Port Local Policing Unit, said: “Mellor’s sentencing comes as part of a well-executed operation carried out by officers to put a stop to our streets being riddled with drugs and instead making them a safer place for the community.

“The strong sentencing sends a positive message to those involved in, or planning to be involved in, the supply of drugs and I would encourage anyone concerned about drug activity in their area to contact Cheshire Police on 101.”
