FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a lorry fire on a section of the M6 in Cheshire.
Two fire engines, one from Holmes Chapel and one from Lymm, attended at 12.50pm today (Wednesday, April 15) at junction 18 of the M6 northbound.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "On arrival crews discovered a tractor unit on a HGV well alight.
"Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to extinguish the flames. Three dry powder extinguishers were also used.
"A closure was put in place but lane four has now reopened. The battery of the tractor was isolated while crews used a hose reel jet to cool down the HGV."
