MOBILE Covid-19 testing units will be set up in Ellesmere Port town centre and Great Sutton next week.

The pop-up testing bases will be offering free walk-in Lateral Flow Tests (LFTs), as well as kits for people to take home, from the following locations:

  • Public car park near to Iceland Food Warehouse, Mercer Walk, 56-58 The Port Arcades, Ellesmere Port, CH65 0AP. Open every day between 9am and 4pm from Monday, September 6 to Friday, September 10.
  • Mill Lane Car Park, Great Sutton, Ellesmere Port, CH66 3PE. Open every day between 9am and 4pm from Monday, September 6 to Friday, September 10.

The current approach in the borough is not part of a surge testing programme but is in response to testing where Covid-19 rates are relatively high.

LFT tests are good at picking up people who have no symptoms but are infected with Covid-19 and so may be unknowingly spreading the disease.

The Government recommends that everyone tests for Covid-19 twice a week regardless of whether they have been vaccinated.

Free home test kits are readily available at participating local pharmacies or online and are also available to collect at the pop-up testing units.

Anyone with Covid-19 symptoms should book a PCR test at gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or by calling 119.
