MOTORISTS were diverted away from a vehicle which had caught fire on the A494 near Chester this afternoon (Wednesday, January 3).
A fire engine from Powey Lane was called to the scene on the A494 Bypass Road near Mollington at around 2pm.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue service said: "A fire engine was used to divert traffic away from the incident while firefighters investigated a small vehicle fire which was out on arrival.
"A thermal imaging camera was used to check over the car while crews waited for Highways to take over with diverting the traffic."
