A MOTORIST stopped by police in Cheshire for using his mobile said he had been telling the person on the call it was dangerous to talk while on the motorway.
Cheshire Police pulled over the driver of a red Vauxhall Corsa on Monday, May 31, after they were caught with their mobile.
The force tweeted: "So the conversation went; PC "Why was the phone in your hand?
"Driver "I was just telling the person on the other end that I couldn't talk because it is dangerous to do that on the motorway!
"PC "And you didn't think to let your passenger do that instead, because you're on a motorway and, as you say, it is dangerous?
"Driver "Erm..."
Officers isued a Traffic offence report.
