CHESTER FC have dipped into the transfer market once more with the signing of winger Ben McKenna from National League North promotion rivals Bradford Park Avenue.
McKenna, 26 has scored five goals this season for the Yorkshire outfit, who currently sit second in the National League North table. One of those strikes was scored at the Swansway Chester Stadium, with McKenna registering the first goal of the game in a match the Blues won 5-3.
The Burnley-born midfielder has made 21 appearances for The Avenue this season including 11 starts and has plenty of experience having also featured for Southport, Workington and Curzon Ashton.
Talking to Chester TV, Blues joint Manager Anthony Johnson, said: “We’re really excited about this signing as Ben is someone we’ve tracked for the last couple of seasons and has always been superb against us including a goal for BPA this season.
“He’s a quick player with great feet and very direct. He’s another player that will have the Chester supporters on the edge of their seats.”
In other news Chester have also confirmed that Jon Moran has moved to Hednesford Town on loan for the remainder of the season.
The defender has made 19 league appearances for the Blues this term, including 15 starts.
Moran, 21, has one goal to his name, a late looping header in a 1-1 draw away at Guiseley at the start of September.
The Pitmen currently sit in 18th place in the Northern League Premier Division with 28 points from 27 games.
