Chester cruised into the second round of the Cheshire Senior Cup with an emphatic 7-0 victory at Runcorn Town.
Danny Elliott netted four times in the rout of the North West Counties Premier Division side, with George Waring scoring twice to complement a late Louis Hayes strike.
Elliott was named in a strong Chester starting eleven, which was captained by central midfielder Gary Stopforth and included fellow senior players Craig Mahon and Jamie Morgan.
The visitors were ahead on 22 minutes when Elliott's shot hit the underside of the bar and Waring followed up to head home the rebound.
And the floodgates opened soon after as Elliott helped himself to a quickfire hat-trick.
The former Aston Villa academy player slid in to convert Stuart Crilly's low cross on 27 minutes, before making it 3-0 with a fine low strike four minutes later.
His treble was completed soon after as he converted neatly from another Crilly assist.
Elliott turned provider early in the second half, crossing for Waring to bag his second of the night.
And Chester were 6-0 up on 67 minutes when Elliott advanced beyond the home defence and fired home with a crisp finish.
Substitute Hayes wrapped up the scoring late on as he swivelled and found the net from inside the box.
