A RECRUITMENT consultant has come up with a novel way to help job seekers find their ideal place of work and companies to secure their ultimate employee.
Simon Quinn-Jones, from Middlewich, launched his own business Positively Different Solutions last November.
The 36-year-old has had various jobs in finance and sales.
After working for several different recruitment firms, he decided to embark on a completely unique approach.
"My model is super simple," said Simon, who studied media and communications at South Cheshire College and now works from home. "I focus on the individual, be it the company or the person looking for work.
"I only take on one client from any particular speciality, such as chemicals, until a vacancy is filled and find out all I can about the company, the amazing projects they are working on and the employee they are looking for.
"I also get to know each person who is searching for work and help them to discover strengths buried deep down that they may not realise they have."
Simon filters and screens all the applications for each job, selects the person he believes best suits the position and prepares them intensively for interview.
"I find someone perfect for the role," said Simon, a former pupil at St Mary's Primary School in Middlewich and St Nicholas Catholic High School in Hartford. "I am investing in one person. I send the company a detailed write-up about the candidate, what motivates them and evidence of their work.
"I build up a close bond with the person, help them to relax and advise them on what to wear and how to conduct themselves in an interview."
Devoting so much time to the selection procedure has enabled Simon to fit job seekers and companies with a perfect match.
"Many recruiters send over 20 CVs to a company, I'm not about numbers. I tailor make things for people," he said."My passion is making the experience as pain free, effortless and positive as possible.
"I am restoring humanity into the process, listening to people and being honest and open to companies and clients who want jobs."
Simon is currently working with four core clients, including a large national data management company and international firms specialising in marine, nuclear, robotics, medical and scientific fields.
"I feel very lucky," said Simon. "I have got to know so many amazing companies from around the world. I truly love every single day that I get to meet new people and help both clients and companies.
"Meeting different people every day is fantastic, the best feeling in the world."
Simon is now sharing his passion for finding people their ideal job with pupils.
"I spoke to seven different classes at Greenbank Residential School in Hartford," he said: "I taught children how to introduce themselves to a prospective employer.
"Children with various learning difficulties got really involved and were able to look you in the eye and conduct themselves extremely well in an interview. It was very rewarding.
"It is important to go into schools and universities and do training sessions. You've got to show your character, passion and positive nature when you are looking for a job.
"Our core is being positive about what we're doing. It's about motivating and empowering, giving people that oomph of energy."
