STAFF and pupils at Ellesmere Port Catholic High School hosted an exhibition by the Anne Frank Trust.
The purpose of the exhibition is to retell the tragic story of the Holocaust through the eyes of Anne Frank, a German Jewish girl, who famously wrote a diary about her experiences of hiding during the Nazi Occupation of the Netherlands.
Lucy Oakley, subject leader for history, said: "This personalised take on teaching the Holocaust really captured our students and they were able to empathise with Anne and her family’s experience, and that of other Jewish families who suffered and were killed.
"Eighteen students trained with the Trust to become Anne Frank Ambassadors, and guided members of the parish, local primary schools, members of the diocese, and staff around the exhibition that was in the hall. This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to develop and implement their leadership skills, guiding their peers around the exhibition, but also to deepen the knowledge and understanding of their peer groups."
Mrs Oakley added: "This was an excellent exhibition and has been praised and appreciated by so many within school and the wider community."
