DOMINO’S PIZZA has officially begun implementing their new ‘Contact Free Delivery’ service due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The service comes at no additional charge for customers and has been introduced by the restaurant chain in response to concerns about physical contact during the pandemic.
Contact Free Delivery is now live on the company website and app and can be selected when placing a pre-paid order.
Delivery drivers will call customers to ask where their food should be left and will stay at least two metres away until the order is picked up.
In a statement made by the CEO of Domino’s, David Wild, he said: “Domino’s understands the trust you place in us to deliver safe, freshly prepared pizza and takes this responsibility incredibly seriously.
“Given the evolving COVID-19 situation I wanted to update you with everything we’re doing, as this is clearly a worrying time for many people.
“I wanted to reassure you that the safety and wellbeing of customers and colleagues is always our top priority.
“Domino’s already has very high hygiene standards and strict food handling procedures. In light of the current situation we’re carefully following the advice from health authorities.
“We’ve implemented a number of additional precautions such as increased hand washing and sanitisation.
“We’re pleased to be able to offer this Contact Free Delivery service across every Domino’s store in the UK and Ireland.
“By introducing Contact Free Delivery, we believe that we will give our customers peace of mind when ordering a Domino’s, while also protecting our delivery drivers.
“Everyone at Domino’s is working tirelessly to ensure we continue to provide you with the level of service and quality you’d expect from us during these challenging times.”
