POLICE are warning Cheshire residents about a new scam in relation to coronavirus vaccinations.
Officers say fraudsters are contacting elderly victims, telling them that someone will come to their home to give one of the new Covid-19 vaccinations.
Cheshire police say the vaccines are not being administered at home and people should not be asked for payment.
Instead, the NHS will be contacting residents to tell them when it is their turn to be vaccinated.
The vaccine roll-out programme is currently limited in Cheshire to hospitals, care homes and – within the next couple of weeks – at a limited number of GP-led vaccination centres.
Anyone who suspects that fraud may be taking place should call police on 101, use the textphone service on 18001 101, or visit www.cheshire.police.uk/ro/report/fo/fraud .
