HOMES in a Cheshire town have been evacuated and roads closed after a crane has fallen.
One fire crew were called out at about 10.30am today (Monday, April 26).
Firefighters responded to the reports of the fallen crane on Waters Green, Macclesfield.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "On arrival the crew found that a crane around 14 metres tall had fallen.
"No injuries have been reported.
"A cordon is in place as a precaution and a number of homes nearby have been evacuated.
"As a result Waters Green and Bowden Street are currently closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
"The crew are assisting with recovery of the crane."
