CHILDREN may just be breaking up for the school holidays, but thoughts are already turning to Christmas at Delamere Forest, with the launch of a new after-dark illuminated forest trail.
Tickets go on sale from Tuesday, July 13 for the festive event, which runs from Friday, November 26 to Friday, December 31.
Forestry England says as for the event: "This Christmas, twinkling lights and seasonal sounds bring bundles of festive fun to Delamere Forest.
"Come along with your friends, family and loved ones to discover sparkling tunnels of light, walk under giant baubles and stroll beneath trees drenched in jewel-like colour.
"Pause for a moment of reflection in the fire garden and gaze at the flickering flames.
"Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled, especially if you have little ones, as you might just glimpse Father Christmas along the way."
The trails will have limited capacity with timed entry. Dogs will not be permitted, except guide dogs.
Advanced booking is essential for the time slots, which begin each 15 minutes from 4.30pm-8.30pm on the days the event takes place.
Those arriving by car will need to pay an extra charge. A family ticket for two adults, two children and either parking or blue badge parking costs £70.
