CHESTER FC have confirmed that one of the joint managers of the club has tested positive for coronavirus.
The football club has confirmed that Anthony Johnson has been self-isolating as a result of the test, and as such has been forced to miss training sessions and three of the Blues' pre-season friendlies.
A club statement said: "Everyone connected with Chester FC would like to wish co-manager Anthony Johnson well in his recovery from Covid-19.
"Anthony tested positive last week and, in line with Government guidance, has been unable to attend training and our pre-season fixtures at Northwich Victoria, Macclesfield and Radcliffe Borough.
"Bernard Morley will continue to oversee first-team duties with support from the backroom staff until Anthony’s return.
"On behalf of the club, and all our supporters, we wish Jonno a speedy recovery and ask that his privacy is respected during this time."
Chester FC beat the reformed Macclesfield club 3-0 on Friday and beat Radcliffe Borough 2-1 the following day.
The Blues will be playing at Trafford on Tuesday at 7.45pm, before playing at home to Fleetwood Town on Saturday at 3pm.
