ELLESMERE Port wheelchair basketball player Billy Bridge made a winning start on his Paralympic Games debut as Great Britain secured a comfortable victory over Algeria.
The 26-year-old came on in the fourth quarter to help Team GB complete a dominant 70-43 win in their Tokyo opener.
Former Stanney High School student Billy scored one point and made an assist for teammate Lewis Edwards.
He was cheered on by his mum Deb and the rest of his family from their home in Little Sutton as they all got together for the 6.45am (BST) fixture.
Great Britain face Germany in their next Preliminary Round game tomorrow (August 27) at the same time.
