BRITISH wheelchair star Hannah Cockroft has thanked Ellesmere Port Sports Village for the role it played in helping her secure the sixth gold medal of her illustrious Paralympic career.
The 29-year-old, who is originally from Halifax but now living in Chester, powered to T34 100 victory in a world-record time of 16.39 on August 29.
She regularly trains on the track at Brio's Ellesmere Port Sports Village site.
Hannah tweeted yesterday: "Thanks so much @BrioEPSV for your fantastic support throughout the pandemic.
"I wouldn’t be putting these performances down without the use of your facilities!"

Her latest success took her a step closer to a long-term target of surpassing the 11 Paralympic medals Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson won between 1992 and 2004.
Hannah can close that gap further in the 800m final on Saturday, September 4.
