THE police helicopter and armed officers have been deployed to Ellesmere Port amid a report of a potential knifeman on a golf course.
Cheshire Police are appealing for information following the incident, which happened at about 12.15pm on Tuesday, September 14.
A Cheshire police spokesperson said: "Police were called to reports of an incident on the golf course at Rivacre Park, Ellesmere Port.
"The caller reported being threatened by a man who was possibly armed with a knife.
"Local officers, supported by the police helicopter and firearms unit, attended the scene and conducted a search of the area but there was no trace of the suspect.
"The man, who was walking two dogs at the time of the incident, is described as approximately 5ft 5in tall, of heavy build and around 60 years old.
"He had a grey beard and was wearing a brown waist length jacket.
"Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101, or visit www.cheshire.pnn.police.uk/tua , quoting IML 1084816.
"Information can also be reported anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
