ALMOST a quarter of eligible 12 to 15 year-olds in Cheshire West and Chester are estimated to have had their first dose of the Covid vaccine since the start of the roll-out last month.
The figures for every local authority area in England and Scotland have been compiled by the Press Association from data published on the Government’s coronavirus dashboard.
The vast majority of local authority areas with the biggest take-up currently are in Scotland.
The highest percentage in England, as of October 16, is Wokingham with 36.2%.
Cheshire West and Chester's figure is 24.2%.
Elsewhere, Cheshire East's uptake is 14.3%, Warrington is 29.1% and Halton 14.6%.
The NHS started to roll out the Covid-19 jab to school children aged 12 to 15 last month.
Almost three million children in this age group are eligible for one dose of the Pfizer vaccine following the government’s acceptance of the UK Chief Medical Officers’ recommendation.
