Little Actors Theatre Company is launching a new project with Brightlights Theatre in Neston to help reduce loneliness and social isolation for the over 50s.

From Friday 4 February until April, at 11am-1pm at Neston Town Hall, the company will offer local performers the chance to rehearse and perform an adaptation of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' entitled 'The Queen and the Weaver', which is written by professional actor, Mike Lockley.

The project is fully funded with support from Tesco Bags for Help and Neston Town Council, so it is free for participants to access. It's director and writer, Mr Lockley has won several awards for his writing and can often be seen on the streets of Chester as a Centurion, during ghost tours with his own theatre company.

The Little Actor Theatre Company's recent Covid-safe performances have included an outdoor pantomime of 'Cinderella' in the summer of 2021 and their own version of 'A Christmas Carol' at the Neston Christmas Market in December.

The final performance of 'The Queen and the Weaver' will be at the Leverhulme Drama Festival in April. The company are encouraging anyone who is interested in roles, from performers, to backstage and technical workers to contact the theatre on 01513364302 or email mail@littleactorstheatre.com.
