NORTHERN Rail has warned passengers NOT TO TRAVEL on its trains tomorrow due to Storm Eunice.
The operator has told service users ‘do not travel’ on Friday, February 18, with the UK braced for severe weather conditions.
An amber warning for strong winds has been issued by the Met Office in the north west.
Meteorologists are also warning of a ‘danger to life’ due to the risk of flying debris and damage to buildings.
Northern Rail says that it is expecting ‘significant disruption’, with delays and cancellations ‘highly likely’.
Regional director Chris Jackson said: “Storm Eunice will cause widespread disruption across the network tomorrow, affecting all operators in the region.
“As such, we are advising passengers not to travel and to consider whether the journey is necessary.”
The rail operator's warning follows a similar one by Merseyrail earlier today. Transport for Wales has gone one step further and cancelled all train services running in Wales for tomorrow.
