Here's where Cheshire finished within the top 10 most regularly hashtag'd counties in the UK.
With its historic Rows, riverside walks, green spaces and iconic walls, Cheshire is certainly one of the most picturesque areas in the country. However, holiday cottage provider, Stay in Devon, have now determined exactly how picturesque that is, using the number of Instagram hashtags that each area has received to date.
The county has finished ninth in an Instagram survey of the 10 most hashtag'd areas within the UK. Sandwiched between Durham (2,770,431 hashtags) in 10th and Norfolk (3,845,789) in eighth, Cheshire has a total of 2,828,915 hashtags on Instagram posts. The social media platform is one of the most popular and widely used mediums for sharing photos and videos.
Data was collected up until January 2022, with the outright winners being Cornwall with a huge 8,284,779 hashtags. Bristol, Essex, Devon and Kent made up the rest of the top five.
Whilst not the most scientific of methods, with some of the wonderful photography posted to the social media platform from Cheshire, it's easy to see why the region is one of only two northern counties to make the top 10.
