The Lord Mayor of Chester visited Bowling Green Court as the retirement complex joined several venues around the city by planting a tree to honour the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Speaking of the event, the Lord Mayor Cllr Martyn Delaney congratulated Bowling Green Court for choosing to mark the occasion in an "environmentally friendly" way.
Cllr Delaney said: "It is really important for Chester to plant new trees within the city, helping to boost biodiversity in the area."
Bowling Green Court, which features 49 apartments and two gardens for retired people in Chester city centre, has joined Alexandra Park and Grosvenor roundabout along with several other locations in planting trees to mark the Queen's 90th year on the throne.
Chester's Lord Mayor has attended many of the events himself with several other key figures, to mark the city's efforts to commemorate the milestone.
Following the tree-planting, the Lord Mayor joined the directors of Bowling Green Court and other well-wishers, including business owners from Brook Street, in enjoying cake that had been specially made for the occasion by Cake Chester of Bridge Street.
