LOVE Island has returned and our islanders are all coupled up but it looks like Chester's contestant Gemma Owen has turned someone's head. 

The 'OG dating show' returned to our screens for the eighth series on Monday night and there was no shortage of drama. 

The daughter of former England footballer Michael Owen entered the villa looking for a summer of fun and romance, but presenter Laura Whitmore was never going to make it that easy. 

In previous series, the boys would arrive and would get to choose which girl they would like to be coupled up with but on Monday, Whitmore revealed that the public had already done the match-making for them. 

Gemma was paired up with Newport contestant Liam Llewellyn but it doesn't look like it will be plain sailing for the couple. 

The first bombshell of the series was Italian Stallion Davide Sanclimenti who entered the villa towards the end of the first day. 

Speaking in the Beach Hut about Davide's arrival, Gemma said: “I was blown away.”

Although Gemma is coupled up with Liam, for now, tonight and the rest of the week could be a very different picture. 

Since after the first challenge of the series - a game of dares - Davide received a text which read: “Davide, in 24 hours you will couple up with a girl of your choice, leaving one boy single and vulnerable #italiansnack #ciaobella”.

Who will Davide Sanclimenti couple up with on Love Island?

The graft is on for the show's Italian contestant and he wastes no time on getting to know the girls better. 

Davide pulls fellow 19-year-old, Gemma, for a chat but it's not clear whether the pair hit it off.

Speaking to Gemma, Davide says: “You’re keeping your cards quite close to your chest.”

The Italian islander also chats to Welsh paramedic Paige, saying: “I fall in love for the personality and if you have a good heart. You are a beautiful girl - you’re a good looking girl."
