A NEW business exclusively aimed at single people is launching in Chester this Thursday (June 16).
Secret Singles is the brainchild of cynical singleton, Vicky Evans from Tarvin.
Vicky is a local woman, with years of experience in the hospitality sector, a deep love of all things Chester and who has been single for more than eight years.
Vicky explained a little more about the business she is about to launch.
She said: “At the end of 2021, I decided to give up on dating apps after a string of unmitigated disasters. Instead I joined a group aimed at single people who liked getting out and about and socialising; basically going back to the good old days of actually meeting people face to face and building a connection from there.
"I organised a couple of events with that group as a hobby and realised that I’m actually really good at it! I also found that there are thousands of single people who wish we could go back in time to the days of giving someone the eye over a bottle of Smirnoff Ice in Brannigans and having a kiss to Pretty Green Eyes.
"Dating apps were great for a while but now more and more people are being 'catfished', 'ghosted' and such, it’s easy to become jaded about something that should be exciting and fun.
"Secret Singles is going to bring the fun back to dating. Once a month, we will take over a local venue for the night and we will fill it with single people.
"Whether people go there to make new friends or to find the love of their life is up to them but we promise that they will have the time of their lives either way.
"We will also have events like wine tastings and gin tours as well as outdoor pursuits in between the Singles Nights.
"Every event will be exclusive to single people so you can speak to anyone there knowing that they aren’t spoken for.”
The launch party will be taking place on June 16 in Chester, at a city centre venue that is, for now, being kept a closely guarded secret.
The tickets are priced at £10 per person and people will gain entry to the event and receive a welcome drink.
