A CHILD narrowly missed being struck by a ride at Gulliver’s World.
The boy climbed over a fence into the restricted area by the Pirate Ship ride as onlookers shouted ‘there’s a kid’.
He got on and sat on a wooden cannon next to the ride before getting off it and moving closer to the ship.
A member of the public then jumped over the fence and removed the child from the area.
The incident is believed to have occurred around 3pm on Monday, July 11.
Gulliver’s World say its staff responded quickly and followed the theme parks procedures.
Craig Clews, resort director at Gulliver’s World, said: “We are aware of an incident in one of the ride enclosures at Gulliver’s World. Our staff responded quickly and followed our safety and reporting procedures.
“The safety of our customers and staff remains our number one priority.”
