AS temperatures across the UK soar over the next couple of days, Cheshire West And Chester Council will be making amendments to their services.

These changes include asking residents to put their bins out in the evening for collection and to be aware of changing work practices for the Highway and Streetcare services.

A spokesperson for CWaC said: "The extreme heat warning continues today and Tuesday.

"If bins are due for collection on Tuesday, residents are being asked to put them out tonight as collection rounds are starting earlier (6.30am) in the morning to avoid the hottest periods of the day.

"The Council’s Highways and StreetCare frontline services have also amended their working practice to manage working in heat.

"There are amended working hours for Highways teams starting at 4 am around Chester and at 6am around Winsford. Work will be mainly in rural areas to reduce noise inconvenience and return to other areas from 7 am."
