A COW stranded in the River Weaver has been rescued by firefighters.
The animal got into difficulties in strong currents.
Firefighters were called to Bradley Lane in Frodsham at around 7.45pm on Monday, August 1.
The water rescue boat and an aerial appliance from Lymm joined forces with crews from Runcorn and Widnes to mount the rescue.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The animal rescue team assessed the scene and the boat was launched.
“Strops were fitted around the cow and farm machinery used to lift it from the water to be handed to the farmer.”
