NEW Cheshire Phoenix signing Jamell Anderson gave the club's fans a glimpse of what may be to come as he helped England to a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.
England secured a last-gasp 17-16 overtime victory over Australia in the men's 3x3 basketball at the Birmingham City Centre last night (August 2). It is the first time that the 3x3 format has featured in the Commonwealth Games.
The 32-year-old was influential throughout and made a crucial dunk to tie the game at 13 points a piece, before teammate Myles Hesson found the winning two-pointer at the death.
The Cheshire club congratulated its new man via Twitter saying: "HUGE congratulations to @Jamell on winning GOLD with @TeamEngland @birminghamcg22 Commonwealth Games last night!!
"We can't wait to see your GOLD at @epsv this season!!"
