AS many businesses and organisations close for the day on Monday, September 19 as the Queen's funeral takes place, we look at what this means for those in Cheshire West.

The country will see a change to many services as people across Britain pay their respects to the late monarch. The bank holiday will also see a number of business close across the borough.

Council Services

All libraries, museums and Cheshire Archives will be closed, with Cheshire West and Chester Council stating that any loaned items will be renewed automatically.

Markets across Cheshire West will be closed, as will schools.

All learning disability day services and older people day services provided by Vivo Care Choices will be closed. Day sessions for Shared Lives will be suspended for the day. Respite services at Dover Drive in Ellesmere Port and Dorin Court in Chester will remain open as normal.

There will be no changes to supported living services and Shared Lives long-term placements or respite services.

All Brio Leisure sites; including Ellesmere Port Sports Village will also be closed for the day.

Major businesses

McArthurGlen Designer Outlets confirmed that Cheshire Oaks will be closed on for the bank holiday (September 19) with the site to resume normal trading ours from the following day.

Chester's Grosvenor Shopping centre will follow suit, with the Centre's Twitter page confirming that the car park will continue to operate as normal for those who wish to use the service.

Chief Executive Officer of Chester Zoo, Jamie Christon paid tribute to the Queen noting her interest in the Zoo's vital conservation work. Mr Christon also confirmed that the Zoo will not open on Monday, September 19 as a mark of respect.

Viewing

The Vue cinema at Cheshire Oaks will be allowing people to reserve tickets for their screening of the Queen's funeral, with tickets free but limited.

Chester Storyhouse's library and public spaces will be open throughout the day from 9.30am to 7pm with visitors invited to watch the day's events, which will be available to view on the big screen. Free tea and coffee will be available throughout also.

Chester Cathedral will also screen the funeral service in the nave of the church, tickets are free but must be booked in advance from the Cathedral's website.
