A YOUNG woman was hit in the face with a glass at a bar in Chester city centre, sparking a police appeal.
At about 9.10pm on Saturday, September 24, officers were called to reports a 21-year-old woman from Tarporley had been attacked at a premises on Newgate Street.
She was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.
A 20-year-old woman from Whitchurch was arrested on suspicion of assault. She has since been released under investigation.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
Detective Constable Victoria Hazlewood said: “Everyone has a right to enjoy a night out in our city and we are doing all we can to establish the circumstances of this assault.
“The victim sustained injuries to her face and has undergone treatment but she will have to live with the impact of this incident every day of her life.
“We have been conducting a number of enquiries including CCTV and as part of these, we would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
“I know that this would have been a particularly busy time in Chester City Centre and there would have been a lot of people who may have seen something that didn’t look quite right.
“I would urge anyone who thinks that they may be able to assist with our investigation to please come forward.”
