DOG walkers are being urged to keep their canine companions on a lead when near livestock, after a farmer lost sheep in an attack.
The Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team posted an update on Tuesday, December 6 reminding people walking their dogs in rural areas to take suitable precautions.
The police community support officer reported a farmer in the Chester area had been the victim of a dog attack on his sheep, which killed two of the flock and left four more with "really upsetting injuries".
The officer reported he had given reassurance to the farmer and added: "Please keep dogs on leads near livestock."
