A NEW system, introduced by the NHS, has revealed that nearly all of the dentists across Ellesmere Port and Neston are only taking on patients referred by another dentist.

The availability of NHS dentists is a nationwide issue with many not able to get an appointment, some are leaving themselves to suffer in pain.

The NHS dentist finder reveals there are four NHS dentists in Neston and five NHS dentists in Ellesmere Port.

According to the finder, Great Sutton Dental Practice is not accepting new patients while nearly all of the other dentists say they are only taking NHS patients referred by another dentist.

Any dentists that don't say this, don't have a recent update on whether they're taking new NHS patients.

Data from NHS Digital shows 1,455 complaints were made about GPs and dentists in the former NHS Cheshire CCG area in the year to March – up 52% from the 957 made in the year to March 2019.
