Drivers in and around Cheshire West and Chester will have several National Highways road closures to watch out for next week.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows seven closures on major roads, with works largely to be carried out overnight.

  • A41, from 8am March 20 to 5pm March 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A41 northbound, Hooton Crossroads to Chester Road lane closures for horticultural works,.
  • M56, from 8pm March 20 to 6am March 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 19 to 20 - lane closure for barriers - permanent.
  • M53, from 9pm March 21 to 5am March 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, J15 to J15 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.
  • M56, from 9pm March 23 to 5am March 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, J14 to J12 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.
  • A55, from 9pm March 25 to 5am March 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M53 northbound, J12 to J11 - carriageway closure for barriers - permanent.
  • M53, from 9pm March 27 to 5am April 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M53 southbound, J9 to J10 - carriageway closure for structure - new/reconstruction.
  • M6, from 9pm March 27 to 5am April 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 North and southbound, junction 18 - 17 lane closures due to inspection of rail bridge.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
