SCORES of Chester revellers have paid tribute to a familiar face who made their nights out that little bit better.
City centre nightclub Rosies and popular bar Church have posted tributes to the staff member affectionately known as 'Uncle Phil', after news of his passing was announced on Monday, March 27.
The Church Bar posted: "RIP to Uncle Phil. Today we have found out about the passing of Phil who has worked at Church since its opening.
"Simon and his team send their deepest condolences to Phil’s family and friends! We will never forget you."
'An absolute legend'
Rosies, via the club night account Gender Blender which is hosted at the nightclub each Tuesday, posted: "We are very sad to hear the passing of Uncle Phil.
"Phil was our original toilet attendant who would make sure we all smelt nice and had clean hands and often had sweetie treats for his regulars.
"Our thoughts go to Phil's family and loved ones and we'll raise a glass of JD tomorrow night in his memory."
Reacting to the sad news, scores of people who attended the two venues praised "a true legend" and "an amazing guy".
One said: "He was an absolute legend around the clubs and bars in Chester, looked after us for years. I know he had been ill for a long time, but he kept grafting and working."
Another posted: "What an absolute diamond of a man."
