POLICE are appealing for witnesses after men broke into a Boots store ina Cheshire West town centre and made off with bottles of aftershave.

At around 3.20am on Monday, May, 9, two unknown men smashed a door at the front of the shop and forced entry into the store.

Once inside, the pair forced open a number of locked display cabinets and stole bottles of men’s aftershave – including Paco Rabanne 1 Million, Diesel and Boss.

They then left the store, in Witton Street, Northwich, through the front entrance, walking down Witton Street, and then turning onto Crown Street towards the Swinging Witch.

Both offenders were wearing dark clothing and baseball caps, with one carrying a green plastic carrier bag.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and detectives are keen to hear from anyone with any information.

Detective constable Claire Heatley, who is leading the investigation said: “Enquiries in relation to this incident are in the early stages and we’re doing all we can to identify the people responsible.

“As part of the investigation we’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the offence or seen anything suspicious in the area.

“We would also ask other businesses in the area to check their CCTV footage to see if there is anything which may aid our investigation.

“We’re also keen to hear from anyone who believes they may have been offered any of the stolen items; the men specifically targeted the Paco Rabanne 1 Million, Diesel and Boss aftershave.”
