THE Standard will host its inaugural Education Awards evening in July but there's still time to get your nominations in to honour those from the borough's education community.
The awards will be presented by ITV journalist Lucy Meacock at a special live event on July 7 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Chester.
There are thirteen categories in total including: Lifetime Achievement Award, Secondary Teacher of the Year, Head Teacher of the Year, Primary School Pupil, Teaching Assistant and Support Worker of the Year, Specialist Provisional School of the Year and more.
We want to hear about stories from across the education sector, so whoever you wish to nominate, we will have an award to celebrate them.
Entries are invited from teachers, parents, governors, pupils and anyone with a knowledge of a particular school or education establishment.
You may be a school wanting to recognise a new teacher who's gotten classes engaged from day one, or teacher whose seen their students overcome adversity to succeed in their studies or extracurricular activities.
Editor Susan Perry said of the Awards: "After what has been an incredibly tough time for schools and colleges across the region, The Chester Standard will be launching an Education Awards in 2023.
"Over the past few years the coronavirus pandemic has resulted in many events having to postponed or cancelled, but we believe that now - more than ever - we continue to celebrate everything that's great in the region.
"And that means highlighting the brilliant work carried out by our dedicated teachers and everyone involved in education in the area, as well as shining a spotlight on innovation and best practice across the area."
All school are welcome to enter as long as they are based in the region. Individuals or institutions can enter more than one category, but this should be made clear on the entry form.
