THE RED Arrows look set to fly over the skies over the border in North Wales this week.

The transit routes - although always subject to change - currently suggest that the aircarft will be flying over the Wrexham area on Thursday (June 8) and Friday (June 9).

During the display season, the Red Arrows often carry out two shows and several flypasts in one day - using various locations across the UK and overseas as operating bases.

This week, there is a RAF Waddington to RAF Valley transit on Thursday scheduled for either at lunchtime around 12.34pm, or 3.24pm.

The Red Arrows display schedule shows that they will then leave Valley for Douglas in the Isle of Man.

Friday will see the transit flight return to RAF Waddington, where it should pass Wrexham once more at around 10.40am. 

As mentioned, the routes can often change at the last minute due to weather and other factors.

The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, or the Red Arrows as they're best known, are one of the world's premier aerobatic display teams.

Flying distinctive Hawk fast-jets, the team is made up of pilots, engineers and essential support staff with frontline, operational experience.

With their trademark Diamond Nine shape, and combination of close formations and precision flying, the Red Arrows have been displaying since 1965.

The Red Arrows are also set to perform at the Rhyl Air Show on August 26/27.

Spectators are set to be wowed with a new 2023 routine which is yet to be revealed. 

As well as Wrexham, the Red Arrows are also scheduled to fly over the likes of Ruthin, Porthmadog, Llyn Ogwen and the Alwen Reservoir this week.
