A MAN has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being involved in a hit-and-run collision.

At around 6.40pm yesterday, Tuesday, a blue or purple Ford Fiesta was travelling along Hospital Way in Runcorn.

As it approached KFC, a man walking toward the fast-food restaurant appeared to remonstrate with the driver.

The car drove off, did a U-turn and collided with the man as he crossed the road.

The car then made off from the scene, leaving the man in the road. He was subsequently taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries.

Cheshire Police is now appealing for any witnesses of the fail-to-stop collision, or anyone with any information, to come forward.

DC Nathaniel Walkowiak said: “I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to police to contact us.

“The same goes for anyone who was driving in this area at around 6.40pm and has captured the incident on dashcam footage.”
