A CASTLE on the outskirts of Chester will play host to a number of action packed events this summer.
Beeston Castle and Woodland Park will will stage the Knights Tournament, a flagship event from English Heritage, alongside firm favourite, Medieval Life.
Medieval Life, on July 22-23, will showcase what Beeston will have been like at that time.
Visitors will be able to step back in time and meet characters from the past and hear tales from centuries ago.
Later in the summer, on August 27-28, watch as rival knights compete in a Knights’ Tournament.
Watch as the winner is decided in the Grand Melee finale, before immersing yourself in medieval life in the encampment where you can meet people from the Middle Ages and witness life at camp.
Becky Eade, head of historic properties at English Heritage, said: “We can’t wait to welcome medieval knights to Beeston.
"With so much to do, the whole family will get lost in the world of warfare and chivalry.
"I am delighted that visitors to Beeston are going to get the chance to enjoy a spectacular event, as well as the Woodland Walk at a time in the year when it’s at its best."
