A ROAD will be closed for months due to pipe upgrade works, Welsh Water has said.
The company said that Bretton Lane, near the junction with Chester Road, in Bretton, near Broughton, will be closed until November.
As part of our work to reduce flooding from the wastewater network in Bretton, our team from @morgansindall_i recently carried out a litter pick in the area to thank local businesses for bearing with us while we carry out this essential work. Welsh Water said: "During very wet weather, the waste network on Bretton Lane can sometimes be overwhelmed which puts properties at risk of flooding.
"Following our investigation work last year, we are now carrying out improvement work to the system. This will involve adding new pipes to the system to create extra storage in the network during heavy rain."
Due to the work, the road will be closed to all through traffic - with a diversion in place. Pedestrian access is being maintained at all times.
Traffic is being diverted through Balderton, along Lache Lane and then back onto the A5104 Chester Road.
Welsh Water has apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanks people for their patience.
