MORE than 150 students picked up their GCSE results today (Thursday, August 24) at the Catholic High School Chester.
Year 11 pupils were commended by head teacher Cathy McKeagney for their determination and tenacity throughout their two years of study.
Ruby Bailey was one of those pupils who achieved great results thanks to her dedication, scoring seven 9’s, two 8’s and one 6 in her exams.
Meanwhile Callum Price achieved two 8’s, four 7’s and three 6’s.
Both Ruby and Callum will now go on to the dedicated Sixth Form at the Catholic High School.
Good results for the likes of James Blackburn and Luke Pearman will lead them to apprenticeships, at Magellan Aerospace and Urenco, respectively.
Mrs McKeagney said: “This Year Group should be extremely proud of themselves, like we are.
"They were so organised and structured in their approach to their GCSEs and it was amazing to see how seriously they took their revision and the exams themselves. Well done to them all - your determination has certainly paid off!”
Head of Year 10 and Year 11, Rachel Millington, said: “We are back to pre pandemic levels of marking for GCSE exams, so we are delighted with the attainment today.
"Whatever is next for our students, whether they stay here at our dedicated Sixth Form or move on into other paths, we want to wish them all the luck in their future endeavours."
