HEAVY traffic is building up around town as campers leave the Creamfields site.

In particular, A56 Chester Road is backed up in both directions.

There are delays in and around the Walton area as a result which are expected to remain throughout the day.

A Facebook post by Cheshire Police reads: "If you’re heading home after Creamfields keep safe – only get behind the wheel when you’re fit to drive, expect delays and follow any diversions given.

"See you next year!"

A number of road restrictions also remain in place - including temporary speed limits, prohibitions of driving and footpath closures,

Creamfields kicked off on Thursday and ended last night, Sunday.

This year’s electronic dance music festival saw around 70,000 fans in attendance.

Huge names such as David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Tiësto, Swedish House Mafia and Fatboy Slim took to the stage in the Daresbury fields this year.
