A LUXURY 5-star hotel in the heart of Chester is in a celebratory mood after receiving another flurry of award shortlistings at both a national and local level.

The Chester Grosvenor has received shortlistings in a variety of categories across the Hotel Cateys, Boutique Hotelier Awards and Taste Cheshire Awards.

The team at the hotel's 3 AA Rosette restaurant, Arkle, has been shortlisted for ‘Team of the Year’ at the Boutique Hotelier Awards thanks to its consistent delivery of outstanding service in the world of fine dining.

This comes only weeks after the restaurant was one of three nationally to be shortlisted for the AA Food Service Award.

Two people responsible for the continued success of Arkle were also named as finalists in the Hotel Cateys — with Aga Szopa shortlisted for ‘Food and Beverage Manager of the Year’ and Executive Chef, Elliot Hill, shortlisted for ‘Hotel Chef of the Year (fewer than 250 covers)’.

Finally, at a local level, the hotel was shortlisted for the ‘Cheshire Accommodation Award’ in the Taste Cheshire Awards — while its 2 AA restaurant, La Brasserie, was also shortlisted in the ‘Best Large Restaurant’ category.

The Boutique Hotelier Awards and Hotel Cateys lead the way in industry recognition — celebrating some of the UK’s most exceptional hospitality outlets and the individuals that spearhead this success.

Steve Ogden, general manager at The Chester Grosvenor, said: “We are truly honoured to be shortlisted for these prestigious awards.

"It is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire team, who consistently strive for excellence in every aspect of hospitality. We are grateful for the recognition and look forward to attending the awards ceremonies.”
