BAVARIAN bands mixed with brollies as Chester Races played host to a wet and wild afternoon of racing.
Chester Racecourse hosted its inaugural Oktoberfest on Watergate Cup Day, featuring a bumper eight-card race meeting.
And the terrible weather didn't deter racegoers from enjoying the atmosphere, which featured performances from Bavarian bands, strolling accordion players and stilt walkers against a backdrop of bunting, barrels, and benches.
From Oktoberfest poutine to pretzel burgers, the legendary German festival was also reflected in some of the food offerings available at the racecourse, with traditional German beers being served.
The racecourse rounds off its Chester Races season on Saturday, October 14 with its Season Finale event.
