A POPULAR fireworks display has been cancelled amid "safety concerns".
Deeside Round Table's event, which attracts thousands of people, announced the news on social media on Tuesday night.
A spokesperson said: "Due to a number of safety concerns raised to us around our annual fireworks display on Bonfire Night at Deeside Leisure Centre we will not be hosting an event this year.
"We are extremely disappointed, as we know you will also be, and want to thank you for your continued support of all of our events throughout the year.
"We are looking forward to taking the necessary steps to get this back on the calendar in 2024."
The charity said the decision is "out of our hands", and that it "pushed so hard" to get the event on.
Dozens of people commented on the post expressing their "massive disappointment" at the news.
Queensferry councillor, Dale Selvester, said: "Being the county councillor for this ward, I'm disappointed that rules and regulations win. However, hopefully all gets resolved for next year.
"Everyone knows you guys work so hard 24/7. Leaving your day job to go and volunteer on fantastic projects before seeing your family and friends.
"Keep up the amazing work. We'll done."
Another person added: "Gutted, we were there last year. An amazing display."
