A FAMILY with a love for all things scary are preparing to host their "biggest and best" Halloween house haunt.
Mark Modyman, 55, and his two children, Kimberley, 21 and Matt, have shared a love for Halloween for many years.
In 2017, Mark and Matt decided to start decorating their house, on Straker Avenue in Ellesmere Port, with strobe lights and sounds for people in the area to enjoy and since then the popularity of their haunts and displays have grew.
Mark said: "For the first couple of years we had the same people come back saying it was awesome but last year we advertised on Facebook and lots of people came and checked it out even if they didn't have kids.
"They all thought it was really cool. We had a projector that looked like hands behind a screen and lots of people loved that.
"We told people to come back this year because it would be bigger and better."
After around 200 visitors on October 31 last year, this year the family have decided to raise money for Hospice of the Good Shepherd.
Their house will be transformed into a haunted carnival theme, with animatronics and clowns which talk and move.
Kimberley will join Mark and Matt, dressed as the Grim Reaper, giving out sweets to children who pay a visit.
There will also be a marquee which is going to look like a carnival tent and a mini maze with scares and lights.

Kimberley said: "The process is fun, it’s a lot of work with all of the building that dad does but the feedback you get from people and seeing people come back each year is a nice feeling.
Mark added: "It is so much fun to see smiles on everyone’s faces and hilarious to see them s*** themselves and run away with the parents laughing.
"I am extremely passionate about it and eventually want to go professional eventually with the name Feast of Screams."
You can see the spooktacular display on Straker Avenue in Ellesmere Port on October 31.
