CROWDS and dignitaries braved atrocious weather on Remembrance Sunday to pay their respects to the fallen.
The Annual Service of Remembrance at Chester Cathedral began with a military parade from Bridge Street towards the cathedral.
The Service of Remembrance took place inside Chester Cathedral, followed by the Act of Remembrance outside.
Speaking before the event, Cllr Sheila Little, Lord Mayor of Chester, said: “Remembrance Sunday is an important day in Chester’s calendar. It is an opportunity to come together to pay our respects to all those who have served.”
The short service took place at the Cathedral War Memorial, followed by the playing of the Last Post and a two-minute silence.
Remembrance Sunday honours everyone who served to safeguard our democratic freedoms and way of life.
Remembrance Sunday is the opportunity for all faiths, non-faiths, cultures and backgrounds to come together to remember the services and sacrifices of Armed Forces communities.
