A WEDDING cake boutique in Chester will represent the North West at a national awards ceremony in London.
Boutique Bakery saw off stiff competition on the way to the regional award for Best Cake Maker at The Wedding Industry Awards, and will go on to represent the area at the UK-wide final in January 2024.
Based in a home studio in Chester, Nicola Thomas set up Boutique Bakery in 2018 to provide couples from across Cheshire and the North West with bespoke modern wedding cakes in a range of delicious flavours.
Nicola says that Boutique Bakery cakes are characterised by their clean, elegant lines, and often come decorated with her signature realistic sugar flowers. Flavours range from classics such as lemon drizzle and chocolate salted caramel, to the more adventurous, such as pink grapefruit and cardamom and strawberry peppercorn shortcake.
Boutique Bakery's success follows another regional win last year and a Highly Commended award in 2021.
Nicola said: "I am absolutely delighted to again have won the accolade for Best Cake Maker, in a competition that is judged on the vital feedback from my couples, alongside the critique of a panel of esteemed industry experts.
"The other entrants in my category, from the North West, Scotland and Ireland were of an incredible standard and it is a real honour to be able to represent our region in the National Finals in the New Year."
The National Awards Event for The Wedding Industry Awards will take place on January 24, 2024 at The Underglobe, London.
